Chemoprojekt forms JV for biodiesel production
February 07, 2012
Chemoprojekt, a Czech Republic-based company specialising in design, engineering and procurement, has formed a joint venture with Nationwide Asset Management.
The 50/50 joint venture has been named FAME Usti nad Labem and will be used for biodiesel production.
The new joint venture will be in charge of the operation of a biodiesel plant that will produce 100,000 tonnes of FAME each year. Production began nearly one year ago in the facility, which is located in Usti nad Labem, at industrial zone of Setuza, Czech Republic.
Chemoprojekt built the plant and supplied the technology with crushing mill facilities. In the past it has also worked with companies such as Preol, Lovosice and Meroco, companies based in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
In the new plant, as part of the joint venture, the FAME is being sold to oil refineries located nearby, as well as to fuel storage and distribution companies, and blenders overseas.
The plant’s location has good connection with road and railway transport, as well as the opportunity to ship via the river port in the future.
The facility also produces fatty acids and technical grade glycerine, which is sold on to Oleochem, a neighbouring company that produces pharmaceutical grade glycerine.
